Brazzaville, June 9, 2022, The Secretary General of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization, APPO, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, during a meeting with the Cabinet, CABEF, carrier of a project to construct a pipeline to connect Central African countries, expressed the full support of APPO for this project which is in line with the strategic objectives of the Organization.
Indeed, this project, presented and supported by the Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency, Gabriel Obiang Lima during the last Council of Ministers of APPO Member Countries in Luanda, Angola, will bring together the eleven (11) countries of ECCAS, is a crucial project for the Central African sub-region that will help economic promotion, development and ultimately end energy poverty in Central Africa by 2030.
This project is in line with the practical recommendations of the Study that APPO conducted last year on the Future of the Oil and Gas industry in the Light of Energy Transition.The countries of the Central African sub-region concerned by this project are Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Congo DR, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda and Sao Tome.
