The Acting Consul of Ghana in Congo, Mr. Daniel Darlington Aheto, received in audience on Monday, January 19, H.E. Farid Ghezali, Secretary General of APPO. The exchanges, which took place at the Consulate in Brazzaville, focused on cooperation between African countries in the field of energy. Welcoming the new APPO SG with an excellent mandate, Mr. Aheto commanded his country’s commitment to APPO. He gratefully welcomed the good wishes extended to all the people of Ghana, led by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing the privileged areas of cooperation within APPO, H.E. Ghezali mentioned training, research and development as well as local content as priority axes. It is this last theme that will be at the heart of the 4th Meeting of the Forum of Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of APPO Member Countries accredited to the Republic of Congo, which will be held on January 27 in Brazzaville during the 39th anniversaryof APPO. To this end, the SG personally transmitted the invitation to this event, specifying that the APPO Secretariat remains at the service of Member Countries for all intents and purposes concerning the hydrocarbon sector. He also recalled the recent signing in Brazzaville of a memorandum of understanding by the Ghana National Hydrocarbons Company, GNPC, with the Algerian National Hydrocarbons Company Sonatrach, all of which demonstrates the dynamism of the Member Country, Ghana.
The Consul of Ghana, while welcoming the initiative, praised the quality of relations between his country and the Organization. He also requested the communication to the Consulate of any information likely to keep it up to date with the initiatives and other activities organized in connection with the Member Country Ghana. Finally, Mr. Daniel Darlington Aheto pledged to take part in the festivities to mark the next anniversary of the APPO in Brazzaville, promising to continue with his colleagues, this important conversation started with the SG of APPO.
