The Acting Consul of Ghana in Congo, Mr. Daniel Darlington Aheto, received in audience on Monday, January 19, H.E. Farid Ghezali, Secretary General of APPO. The exchanges, which took place at the Consulate in Brazzaville, focused on cooperation between African countries in the field of energy. Welcoming the new APPO SG with an excellent mandate, Mr. Aheto commanded his country’s commitment to APPO. He gratefully welcomed the good wishes extended to all the people of Ghana, led by President H.E. John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing the privileged areas of cooperation within APPO, H.E. Ghezali mentioned training, research and development as well as local content as priority axes. It is this last theme that will be at the heart of the 4th Meeting of the Forum of Ambassadors and Heads of Missions of APPO Member Countries accredited to the Republic of Congo, which will be held on January 27 in Brazzaville during the 39th anniversaryof APPO. To this end, the SG personally transmitted the invitation to this event, specifying that the APPO Secretariat remains at the service of Member Countries for all intents and purposes concerning the hydrocarbon sector. He also recalled the recent signing in Brazzaville of a memorandum of understanding by the Ghana National Hydrocarbons Company, GNPC, with the Algerian National Hydrocarbons Company Sonatrach, all of which demonstrates the dynamism of the Member Country, Ghana.

The Consul of Ghana, while welcoming the initiative, praised the quality of relations between his country and the Organization. He also requested the communication to the Consulate of any information likely to keep it up to date with the initiatives and other activities organized in connection with the Member Country Ghana. Finally, Mr. Daniel Darlington Aheto pledged to take part in the festivities to mark the next anniversary of the APPO in Brazzaville, promising to continue with his colleagues, this important conversation started with the SG of APPO.

Le Consul du Ghana au Congo par interim, M. Daniel Darlington Aheto a reçu en audience ce lundi 19 janvier S.E. Farid Ghezali, Secrétaire Général de l’APPO. Les échanges qui ont eu lieu dans les locaux du Consulat à Brazzaville, ont porté sur la coopération entre pays africains dans le domaine de l’énergie. Souhaitant la bienvenue ainsi qu’un excellent mandat au nouveau SG de l’APPO, M. Aheto s’est félicité de l’engagement de son pays au sein de l’APPO. Il a accueilli avec gratitude les bons vœux adressés à l’endroit de tout le peuple ghanéen, avec, à sa tête le Président S.E. John DramaniMahama.

Abordant les domaines privilégiés de la coopération au sein del’APPO, S.E. Ghezali a évoqué la formation, la Recherche & Développement ainsi que le Contenu Local comme des axes prioritaires. C’est d’ailleurs cette dernière thématique qui sera au cœur de la 4ème Réunion du Forum des Ambassadeurs et Chefs de Missions des Pays Membres de l’APPO accrédités en République du Congo, qui se tiendra le 27 janvier prochain à Brazzaville lors du 39ème anniversaire de l’APPO. À cet effet, le SG a transmis en mains propres l’invitation, à cet événement, précisant que le Secrétariat de l’APPO reste au service des Pays Membres à toutes fins utiles concernant le secteur des hydrocarbures. Il a rappelé également la signature récente à Brazzaville d’un mémorandum d’entente par la Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures du Ghana, la GNPC, avec la Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures de l’Algérie Sonatrach, toute chose qui démontre le dynamisme du Pays Membre, le Ghana.

Le Consul du Ghana, tout en se félicitant de l’initiative, a salué la qualité des relations entre son pays et l’Organisation. Il a par ailleurs sollicité la communication au Consulat de toute information susceptible de la tenir à jour des initiatives et autres activités organisées en lien avec le Pays Membre le Ghana. Pour finir, M. Daniel Darlington Aheto s’est engagé à prendre part aux festivités devant marquer le prochain anniversaire de l’APPO à Brazzaville, promettant d’y poursuivre avec ses collègues, cette importante conversation entamée avec le SG de l’APPO.
