The Energy Institute (EI), UK at its 2022 Celebrating Excellency In Energy award night honoured APPO’s Secretary General H.E. Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim with the Energy Leader award in recognition of his hard work in steering the course of the African oil and gas industry.
The Energy Leader category is one of the ten categories of the award which Includes Access to Energy, Energy Leader, Energy Management, Environment, Health and Safety, Innovative Technology, Low carbon, Public Engagement, Talent Development and Learning, Young Energy Professional of the year. A total of six of persons including Rebekah Shirley, World Resources Institute, Abdulaziz Al-Qasim, Saudi Aramco, Rinaldo Brutoco, H2 Clipper, Inc. Mukabanji Mutanuka, Engie Power Corner Zambia, Bobo Ng, North East Local Enterprise Partnership were considered for the Energy leader category. In the words of The Energy Institute “Dr Ibrahim has championed the industry, promoted knowledge, developed staff, improved skills and encouraged best practice.”
The Energy Institute supports the global energy industry and produces a wide range of technical guidance materials, research papers, and standards. Its publications cover a variety of subjects, including pipelines, road tankers, and refineries. Most of EI’s works are sponsored by its technical partners which enable the institute to provide the industry with knowledge on important contemporary issues in the energy sector that is both affordable and valuable.
Some of EI’s technical partners include ADNOC, BP, CNOOC, ENI, Equinor, ExxonMobil, Kuwait Petroleum International Ltd, Qatar Petroleum, Shell U.K. E&P Ltd, TotalEnergies, Uniper and Woodside .

L’Institut de l’énergie (IE) du Royaume-Uni, lors de sa soirée Célébrant l’excellence dans l’énergie 2022, a honoré le Secretaire Général de l’APPO, S.E Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim avec le prix Energy Leader en reconnaissance de son travail acharné dans la direction de l’industrie pétrolière et gazière africaine.
La catégorie Energy Leader est l’une des dix catégories du prix qui comprend : Accès à l’énergie, Leader de l’énergie, Gestion de l’énergie, Environnement, Santé et sécurité, Technologie innovante, Bas carbone, Engagement du public, Développement et apprentissage des talents, Jeune professionnel de l’énergie de l’année. Au total, six personnes, dont Rebekah Shirley, World Resources Institute, Abdulaziz Al-Qasim, Saudi Aramco, Rinaldo Brutoco, H2 Clipper, Inc. Mukabanji Mutanuka, Engie Power Corner Zambia, Bobo Ng, North East Local Enterprise Partnership, ont été considérées pour la catégorie Leader de l’énergie. Selon l’Institut de l’énergie, « M. Ibrahim s’est fait le champion de l’industrie, a promu les connaissances, a développé le personnel, a amélioré ses compétences et a encouragé les meilleures pratiques ».
L’Institut de l’énergie soutientl’industrie mondiale de l’énergie et produit un large éventail de documents d’orientation technique, de documents de recherche et de normes.
