The Guinea Ecuatorial de Petroleos (Gepetrol) is hosting the 6th edition of the Meeting of APPO NOCs CEOs’ Forum, on September 24, 2024 in Malabo. This prestigious meeting, which follows the 5th Meeting held in Brazzaville on November 16, 2023, will once again bring together the delegations of National Oil Companies from APPO Member Countries for a day of high-level meetings, discussions and strategic collaborations. The meeting aims to encourage cooperation, share ideas and explore innovative solutions to address challenges and opportunities in the energy sector.
The Forum’s missions
The APPO NOCs CEOs’ Forum has the following missions:
- ensure commercial, technical and technological collaboration in the field of hydrocarbon resources between Member Countries.
- support the sharing of research and development studies to improve hydrocarbon production.
- support data collection and collaboration among Member Countries.
- support a wide range of capacity-building activities in the petroleum industry for nationals of Member Countries.
- share market developments and the impact of global and regional energy regulations and their implications on hydrocarbon production.
The menu of the Malabo meeting
The Sixth Meeting of APPO NOCs CEOs’ Forum, to be held in Malabo, will serve as a platform to renew commitments to cooperation and collaboration among Member Countries. It will see, among other things, important ceremonies for the signing of bilateral agreements. Also, the participants will take stock of the commitments made at the previous meeting. On the agenda will be the important subject of the ongoing establishment of the Africa Energy Bank. They will also have to discuss other potential financing options for NOCs projects and operations. Other topics such as infrastructure, regional markets, human capacity building, and technology and environmental issues are on the agenda of this meeting. In addition, the various NOCs will have to present themselves and their potential for improving their oil and gas production potential, without forgetting the potential for bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
