The forum of directors of training institutes in the oil and gas industry of APPO Member Countries, was held from June 21 to 22, 2023, in Skikda, Algeria.
In his remarks, the Secretary General of APPO, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim expressed particularly thanked the CEO of Sonatrach and President of the Forum of the CEOs of APPO NOCs as well as the Director General of IAP and all members of the Management of Sonatrach for their commitment to the success of fruitful collaboration and partnership in the oil and gas sector in Africa. He briefed the Meeting on the background to the establishment of the Forum of Directors of training of APPO MCs oil & gas sector which he said was a response to the challenges posed by the global energy transition in terms of African expertise. The objective is to come together to address the imminent challenges in the technology and skills capacity that the energy transition poses to African oil and gas industry.
Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim insisted on the prospect to work jointly towards having an African training label and certification that will be internationally recognized.
Le forum des directeurs des instituts de formation dans l’industrie pétrolière et gazière des pays membres de l’APPO s’est tenu du 21 au 22 juin 2023 à Skikda, en Algérie.
Dans son allocution, le Secrétaire Général de l’APPO, Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim a particulièrement remercié le PDG de Sonatrach et Président du Forum des PDG des SNH de l’APPO ainsi que le Directeur Général de l’IAP et tous les membres de la Direction de Sonatrach pour leur engagement à la réussite d’une collaboration et d’un partenariat fructueux dans le secteur pétrolier et gazier en Afrique. Il a informé la Réunion sur le contexte de la création du Forum des Directeurs de Formation du secteur pétrolier et gazier des PM de l’APPO qui, selon lui, est une réponse aux défis posés par la transition énergétique mondiale en matière d’expertise Africaine. L’objectif est de s’unir pour relever les défis imminents en matière de technologie et de compétences que la transition énergétique pose à l’industrie pétrolière et gazière africaine.
Dr Omar Farouk Ibrahim a insisté sur la perspective de travailler ensemble pour avoir un label et une certification de formation africaine qui seront internationalement reconnus.
