Brazzaville, June 9, 2022, The Secretary General of the African Petroleum Producers’ Organization, APPO, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, during a meeting with the Cabinet, CABEF, carrier of a project to construct a pipeline to connect Central African countries, expressed the full support of APPO for this project which is in line with the strategic objectives of the Organization.
Indeed, this project, presented and supported by the Minister of Mines and Hydrocarbons of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency, Gabriel Obiang Lima during the last Council of Ministers of APPO Member Countries in Luanda, Angola, will bring together the eleven (11) countries of ECCAS, is a crucial project for the Central African sub-region that will help economic promotion, development and ultimately end energy poverty in Central Africa by 2030.
This project is in line with the practical recommendations of the Study that APPO conducted last year on the Future of the Oil and Gas industry in the Light of Energy Transition.The countries of the Central African sub-region concerned by this project are Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Chad, Congo, Congo DR, Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda and Sao Tome.

Brazzaville, le 9 juin 2022, Le Secrétaire Général de l’APPO, Dr. Omar Farouk Ibrahim, au cours d’une réunion avec le Cabinet, CABEF, porteur d’un projet de construction d’un pipeline pour relier les pays d’Afrique Centrale, a exprimé le plein soutien de l’APPO à ce projet qui est en ligne avec les objectifs stratégiques de l’Organisation.
En effet, ce projet, présenté et soutenu par le Ministre des Mines et des Hydrocarbures de la Guinée Équatoriale, Son Excellence Gabriel Obiang Lima, lors du dernier Conseil des Ministres des pays membres de l’APPO à Luanda, en Angola, qui réunira les onze (11) pays de la CEEAC, est un projet crucial pour la sous-région de l’Afrique Centrale qui contribuera à la promotion économique, au développement et finalement à la fin de la pauvreté énergétique en Afrique Centrale d’ici 2030.
Ce projet est en ligne avec les recommandations pratiques de l’étude que l’APPO a menée l’année dernière sur l’avenir de l’industrie pétrolière et gazière à la lumière de la transition énergétique.Les pays de la sous-région d’Afrique centrale concernés par ce projet sont l’Angola, le Burundi, le Cameroun, le Congo, la RD Congo, la République centrafricaine, le Gabon, la Guinée équatoriale, le Rwanda et Sao Tomé et Tchad.
