Working visit of the Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria to APPO headquarters


APPO Secretariat was honored this morning with a visit by H.E. Mohamed Arkab, Minister of Energy and Mines of Algeria. Minister Arkab who is on country visit to the Republic of Congo was accompanied by his esteemed host, the Minister of Hydrocarbons of the Republic of Congo, HE Bruno Jean Richard Itoua and a delegation from Algeria which included the CEOs of Algerian National Oil Corporation, SONATRACH Mr. Rachid Hachichi, and Sonelgaz M. Mourad Adjal as well as the APPO Executive Board Member for Algeria Mr. Amine Remini.

The Ministerial delegation was received by an APPO Secretariat Team, led by Director Support Services, Mrs Philomena Ikoko who represented the Secretary General who is currently participating in the APPO Roundtable on gas flaring, in Accra, Ghana. Minister Arkab and his team were briefed on the progress of work on the completion of the APPO Secretariat as well as an update on the implementation of Ministerial Resolutions on the establishment of the African Energy Bank (AEB).

The Ministers were assured of the Secretariat’s continuos committed to driving the Organization’s progress and innovation in the energy sector across Africa.
Minister Arkab expressed delight with the progress that APPO has made since the reform from APPO, urging the Secretariat not to relent in the face of challenges.
