The mission of the Centre consists of conducting studies and research aimed at promoting cooperation and capacity building among APPO Member Countries and addressing the peculiar challenges they face in the oil and gas industry. The Centre manages the hydrocarbons data relating to Member Countries and the continent. It also focuses on capacity building in the industry for Member Countries. The Centre comprises three technical units, namely Hydrocarbons Studies, Capacity Building and Technical Cooperation and Project Management.
The Director of Rilwanu LUKMAN Research and Development Centre is the Principal Officer of the Centre, and is responsible for organizing and administering the work of the Centre; ensuring that the functions and duties assigned to the different units within the Centre are effectively carried out.
